In Memoriam

Howard Fishing

The rubber world says goodbye to an icon.

Howard L. Laney, who worked at Griffith Rubber Mills from 1967-1990, passed away on August 3, 2011.   Mr. Laney was originally hired at Griffith Rubber Mills as its Technical Director.  He eventually became President and then owner of the company.  During his tenure he transformed Griffith Rubber Mills from a regional rubber products manufacture to the global exporter of U.S. made goods that it is today.

He will be remembered as an extremely hard worker who enjoyed the challenges of his job and the people he worked with.   As the current stewards of the company we are honored to carry on his work.

He is survived by his wife Donna: daughters Jill Jarrett (Robert) and Jennifer Laney:  son, Scot Laney (Irene); grandchildren, Hanna and Ryan Laney; sister, Marilyn Bomer (Lyle).
